Hot Fox Toddy - Our 2019 Christmas Cocktail

    

We're putting it out there, going old school and pitching possibly the unsexiest drink known to man (and woman)kind as THE drink of the season.
We feel like gin has had it's day and as for spritz - very last season. 
Our hot toddy will warm the cockles of your festive heart. If you make it strong enough, it'll kill winter bugs and make any Christmas conversations with that Cousin/Aunt/In-Law/Neighbour/Sister's boyfriend (the one who didn't get the memo about leaving politics and religion at the door on Christmas Day) bearable. 
So pull on your PJs (we know people that can help you with that), get closer to the fire and get your (hot) toddy on.

    

Ingredients

50ml whisky (or more, but beware...)
50ml Stone’s Ginger Wine
3tsp honey
1 cinnamon stick, snapped in half
1 lemon, half juiced and half sliced
2 cloves
   
Method
  
Whisk the Stone’s Ginger Wine, whisky and honey together and split between 2 heatproof glasses. Add half of the cinnamon stick to each, and then top up with 200ml boiling water.
  
Add a splash of lemon juice to each, then taste and add more to your preference. Finish each with a slice of lemon, studded with a clove, and serve immediately.
