This season, we looked to The Camargue, France’s beautiful, untamed southern delta – a panorama of vaulted blue skies, rippling swamps and rice paddies famed for producing a mosaic of colour, light and mood. We transported its most emblematic equine inhabitants coveted for their grace, stamina and agility to a New York 70s discotheque and bathed them in a colour palette of dance-floor lights – golden mustard, candy pink, cherry red and ice blue.
Epitomising the season’s mood are a collection of muses who ran with Warhol and Lopez – Studio 54 regulars like Jerry Hall, Marie Helvin, Marisa Berenson, Bianca Jagger and Pat Cleveland. Icons-in-the-making, whose beauty thrived beyond the velvet rope and whose sharp, neon blushed cheekbones and insouciant disco-diva style made them the very embodiment of the opulent excess of the era.
We’ve put together a collection of classic PJ shapes, after-dark perfect nightdresses and luxe robes in printed silk charmeuse in a print combination and colour palette that we call Camargue Discotheque.
